The Experience to take you further?

Over many years of organising and taking part in tours across the world, we have gathered a wealth of knowledge about what works and what doesn't when we're out on the road. This insight drives us forward to try to make each tour more exciting and interesting than the last.

Making these improvements has not compromised our commitment to providing excellent value overland trips accessible to the independent traveller on a budget. We also balance the commercial aspects of the tours with trying to put something back into the communities we visit.

It is possible for the independent traveller to get out on the road and explore the places we visit on their own - but it would come at a far greater expense and, in some places, could be quite a dangerous undertaking. Overland Club offers exciting, affordable trips to some of the most breathtaking destinations in the world. We bring people and places together - whatever happens next is up to you.

A Helping Hand ?

Over the last decade we have helped hundreds of individuals find their own unique travelling experience and we want to help you do the same.

Overland Club trips are as much about the getting there as they are about the destination. We always allow you the freedom to choose how you see the regions we travel through, so you can choose the specific sights you want to see at any given destination. It is this spirit of enthusiasm for independent travel that drives our company - we believe in providing the basics to get you out there and see the world your own way.

Travel in Good Company

While the company has grown considerably since our first tour in 1992, our approach of instilling the personal touch into each trip has not changed. Originally operating solely in Africa, we no offer expeditions in five continents with new trips being added each year.

Our continued enthusiasm for adventure travel means we often take part in the tours we organise. This process is something that is vital in terms of keeping us in touch with our tours first hand, and helping us to improve them further each year.

Itineraries

We class our overland tours as "adventure journeys" so all itineraries, route information and trip durations featured within our brochure and on our website are supplied in good faith.

Itineraries may vary from that described and occasionally contingency routes are followed. In booking an Overland Adventure journey you should be aware of this. Overlanders must adopt a flexible attitude with regards to the itinerary and accept local conditions as they find them.

That said, however, the itinerary contents are a good indication of each journey - and remember no journey is the same and no story is ever told twice.

Modular Tours in Africa, South America & Middle East

The majority of Overland Clubs tours are modular; by this we mean that the longer tour is made up of sections or modules of several shorter tours.

Designing our tours and departure dates in such a way allows Overland Club to offer the most competitively priced tours within the market.

Overland Club can ensure its departure dates go-ahead and it can also ensure that the group of fellow travellers is varied throughout with people of different nationalities and ages.

To give an example; our 58 day Great African Trail overland tour from Nairobi to Cape Town in Africa; is made up of 3 tours, the first 14 days being the Gorilla Safari, the next 23 days thereafter being the Wildlife Express from Nairobi to Victoria Falls and the final 21 days is as the Desert Delta Dunes tour to Cape Town. On this route new members will join at various stages and those on short vacations will terminate en route.

This principle is widely acknowledged within the travel industry and with over 10 years experience in overlanding we believe this to be the preferred option of our customers, it helps keep the tour fresh and passes onto the customer a budget priced overland product.

Remember we aim to deliver a value for money tour regardless of whether the tour has 6 participants or is 6 months in duration.
